Community-Based Learning
Community-Based Learning supports student learning through collaborative activities in the community that foster engagement, equity, and civic responsibility. These opportunities constitute educational experiences that allow students to actively engage in organized activities through courses that connect them directly with the community around us at the college. They also allow students to reflect on their experiences, creating a robust learning opportunity.
There are many benefits to participating in community-based learning projects and courses including but not limited to:
- Apply class concepts to the community around them and to the greater global community as well
- Gain relevant experience and professional skills for future employment
- Network with community partners and build relationships with potential employers
